Many people dream of quitting their job and starting their own business. They dream of unlimited money, total freedom, traveling, extravagant vacations, and having the time and freedom to do as they please.

Interest in people quitting their jobs is at an all time high. Many people also dream of starting their own companies.

When I was in college, I had the dream of starting my own business so I won’t have to get a job. I decided to take action. I built an instagram that gained over 20,000 followers and published and sold a children’s book.

When It Was Time to Quit

After the release, I had moderate success. In order to continue the business, I had to keep pouring my time, effort, and money in which was eating into other areas of my life. My grades got worse, I had less energy to socialize, and I was spending all my money from my tech internship to continue running ads.

It was a poor balance, and I eventually decided to stop the business so that I could focus more on getting a job with a better balance.
